Description

Our single vineyard and small lot releases enable us to deliver some of our finest expressions of Pinot Noir by concentrating on specific vineyards, clonal selections or techniques. In vintage 2016 we were fortunate to begin a relationship with the renowned Fiddlestix Vineyard in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation.

Originally planted in 1996, this mature vineyard produces Pinot Noir wines of great structure and balance. The Fiddlestix Pinot Noir shows spicy aromatics, vibrant acidity and notes of smoke, black cherry and cola. Enjoy!

Wine Critic Reviews
"Soft yet dark aromas of black raspberry sorbet are lifted by star anise and wild mint aromas on the nose of this bottling. There is a rich boysenberry depth to the palate, alongside fennel pollen, rounded baking spice and a plum-skin tang." ~ Wine Enthusiast "...a bold, powerful wine, with all of the raw energy that is so typical of this site. Bright red fruit, flowers, game and licorice are all pushed forward. The Fiddlestix is a big, brooding Pinot, but it is also very nicely balanced, with tons of sheer allure, something that young Fiddlestix Pinots don't always offer." ~ Antonio Galloni's Vinous "A creamy red, with concentrated dark cherry, kirsch and damson plum flavors, supported by vibrant acidity. Cola and nutmeg accents linger on the juicy and well-spiced finish. Drink now through 2023." ~ Wine Spectator "...pale to medium ruby with scents of bergamot, violet, pipe tobacco, lilac, saline, dust and a light framing of new oakā€”lots of layers. The palate is light to medium-bodied and perfumed, showing great concentration and lovely layers, with grainy tannins and good freshness, finishing with a touch of oak poking through." ~ Wine Advocate
